Rufus Thompson
is originally from New
Summerfield, Texas, and graduated from Jacksonville Public Schools, and
is employed by The Trane Company. He obeyed the gospel at SouthCentral,
under Brother Darryl Bowdre, after being exposed to the Church by his
wife and his wife’s family. Immediately he began a habit of faithful
attendance to all services. He also applied himself to learning through
Bible classes Although the youngest of our deacons, and the youngest in
the faith, Rufus has grown spiritually in a tremendous way. He is a
willing, able, committed and talented worker. Around SouthCentral he
maintains a quiet demeanor as he executes faithful service. A man of few
words in public, Brother Thompson can be counted on to work in any areas
where asked. Some of his hobbies include watching sports and enjoying
different kinds of music. He is one of our main ushers, and will soon
expand his duties to include working with Tape Central (our audio
ministry), Children’s Ministry and the department of Statistics. Rufus
and Brashante’ are the proud parents of one son. |
